Know about WattCycle LiFePO4 Battery

How do I know whether my device is compatible with your batteries?

To determine the compatibility between WattCycle LiFePO4 Battery and your device, you should consider several factors:

1) Voltage Compatibility: Ensure that the voltage output of the WattCycle LiFePO4 Battery matches the voltage requirement of the device. Connecting a battery with a different voltage could damage the device or the battery.

2) Capacity and Runtime: Check if the capacity (measured in ampere-hours, Ah) of the WattCycle LiFePO4 Battery is sufficient to meet the power demands of the device. Ensure that the battery can provide enough energy to power the device for the desired duration.

3) Physical Dimensions: Verify that the physical size and shape of the WattCycle LiFePO4 Battery allow it to fit into the battery compartment or housing of the device. Make sure there is enough space and that the battery connections align properly. (for future needs)

4) Charging and Discharging Rates: Check if the WattCycle LiFePO4 Battery can handle the charging and discharging rates required by the device. Ensure compatibility in terms of maximum charge/discharge current and recommended charging/discharging protocols.

5) Safety Considerations: Evaluate the safety features of both the lithium battery and the device to ensure they meet relevant safety standards and regulations. Consider factors such as overcharging protection, short circuit protection, and temperature management. All WattCycle Batteries are equipped with BMS system, which ensures that no safety accidents will occur during normal use.

6) Manual Recommendations: Refer to the device manual's specifications and recommendations regarding compatible battery types and models. They often provide guidance on the type and specifications of batteries suitable for use with their devices.

All in all, before buying, you just need to figure out the parameters of the connected device you want and the parameters of our battery (shown on the listing) to ensure the compatibility. Then you can safely and effectively use WattCycle LiFePO4 Battery with your devices. If you are unsure about the  compatibility, consult with the WattCycle team (service@wattcycle.com) for further guidance.

What is DOD?

DOD is an abbreviation for "Depth of Discharge," which indicates the percentage of battery capacity that has been discharged, typically represented as a percentage. For example, a battery with a DOD of 50% means that half of its rated capacity has been discharged.

In the usage of lithium batteries, controlling DOD is crucial. Deep discharge often accelerates the deterioration of lithium battery lifespan. Therefore, maintaining DOD at lower levels can prolong the lifespan of lithium batteries. It is generally recommended to keep DOD below 80% to ensure the long-term health and performance of the battery.

What is the life span of WattCycle LiFePO4 Battey?

WattCycle LiFePO4 battery can be used for 4,000-20,000 life cycles.
Depending on usage, it can be used 10 years or more. At same time, we provide a FREE 5-year warranty.

Lead acid and AGM get roughly 300-500 life cycles before their capacity is reduced substantially.
Therefore, even though there is more upfront cost with a WattCycle LiFePO4 Battery, the upgraded saves you big in a long run.

How to check battery voltage and get the capacity?

You can check the battery voltage with a moniter.
If you don't have a battery monitor, you can use a multimeter to monitor the voltage.

Battery capacity can be roughly estimated by the following voltage method.
Test steps:
1. Disconnect the charger or load.
2. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
3. Test the open circuit voltage.

Can I use WattCycle LiFePO4 battery as a starting battery?

No. WattCycle LiFePO4 battery can not be used as starting batteries but energy storage, please do not use them to start any devices.

Do l need to charge it when l receive it?

The default of the new factory battery is [ sleep state ],the first 3 times need to be fully charged, discharged and then fully charged, and then discharged... to fully activate the battery capacity.

What is the recommended fully charge voltage and current?

The recommended fully charge voltage is 14.2-14.6V. And the current is under 12A.

Where can l mount the battery?

In order for our batteries to perform better and extend their service life, we strongly recommend to store batteries in a stable environment away from direct sunlight, moisture, or damp areas. The ideal storage location is dry, well-ventilated, and away from sources of heat and flammable materials.

If you plan to install the battery inside a device, make sure the internal space of the device and the physical dimensions of the battery are compatible. At the same time, if you need to perform series or parallel operations, you also need to reserve some space to support your future operations.
